Incubation Program

Enterprise Incubation Program. This Is designed to assist individuals in the community who have a desire to start either a business, non-profit or a social enterprise with a focus of community development.

The program provides the following

  1. Organizational development such as – Clarifying mission and vision statements and non-legal recommendations and organizational structure
  2. Recommendations on obtaining start-up resources
  3. Business plan development
  4. Fiscal management for non-profits only
  5. Space for meetings (based on availability)
  6. Opportunities to offer services within LDC programs are available for non-profit organizations

Procedure:

  1. Interested individuals will complete the LDC incubation application form
  2. Successful applicants will be selected by the LDC incubation team
  3. Three will be three sessions provided through incubation process (see above)
  4. After three sessions a fourth session will be scheduled for review of accomplishments
  5. Applicants who complete the first four steps can reach out to LDC Incubation team for on-going mentoring
  6. Program cost is $180. Scholarships and a sliding scale is also provided based on income

Fiscal Sponsorship:

  • Fiscal Sponsorship is a cost effective way for individuals to implement new programs, start new organizations and test new approaches for social change in a community. The Life Development Center uses the fiscal sponsorship to help individuals start something new without starting a separate nonprofit organization or while they are waiting for their nonprofit status to be finalized through the federal government.

LDC Programing Opportunity:

  1. Applicants who’s mission fit into the LDC vision, after careful review may have the opportunity to launch their initiative by being part of the LDC programing for the community
  2. Individuals selected will be put on the schedule and their initiative will be advertised within the CityLight community and beyond
  3. The use of space will be made available to carry out their initiatives
  4. A financial agreement will be signed for initiatives that generate proceeds
  5. Liability and insurance needs and procedures will be finalized before programs can begin

LDC Space Use:

  • Participants of the incubation program will have access to use office space (based on availability) for  events  that are in alignment with the LDC mission. LDC will be a partner for the event and space will be available for usage.
